I could maybe do a crazy thing.

A return flight to Osaka in April is 2670 PLN. Accommodation via airbnb for a week is ~900 PLN. Probably another ~1500 PLN to get by and not starve.

If I maxed out my credit card, I could do it.

Except I'm chickenshit so I probably won't do it, I'll just sit here thinking about it. *headdesk* moodwriter will be there during that time. It's been our plan for years now to go to Japan together, except of course I didn't plan it for this year--with all the expenses that came up when we bought the apartment, it kind of didn't fit in the budget in any way.

But. Oh hell, do I want to do it. >.<

I never do crazy shit like this. I usually decide it's too stressful or just downright impossible or... somethingsomethingsomething. There's always something. I really wish I had it in me to go, "let's do it, and to hell with the consequences". >.>

That does sound so tempting! We're hoping to finally take our delayed honeymoon to England (and likely Wales for a day or two) in the fall, and then I'll start socking away money for Japan. I suppose whether you "should" do it depends on how quickly and easily you can pay off your credit card...

Not quickly and not easily, not with that amount. :P LOL. It's more likely that I'll do it next year, although my friends won't be able to meet me there, since they're going to spend a month in Japan this year. I really wish I could pull it off this year, though. :D

UK is wonderful if you don't just stick to the most popular places (those can be a bit of a let down, actually!) I once did a road trip from Edinburgh to London along the east coast. It's one of the most kickass traveling-related experiences I've ever collected. :)

We will only have about week and will hit a few major tourist sites such as the British Museum (unavoidable with a husband who's in the museum field, largely because of his experience with London museums as a teenager the year his family lived north of London). I want to see "a gorgeous cathedral" and "some Roman ruins" so we're hoping to stay at a lovely B&B in St. Albans that I found online, since that town has both. And I want to stay at least one night in Oxford University--many of the colleges rent out available rooms, and oh, to pretend to be an Oxford student for just one day and night! And of course I want to have high tea, ideally with a blogfriend who lves in the area and once had tea at a London shop that sounds like the ultimate tea shop!
